Tony Currie at the Town Hall

To celebrate Sheffield’s footballing birthright, Sheffield Home of Football and the Lord Mayor invited one of the City’s finest ever players to a special Town Hall event, to celebrate his career. He spoke honestly and humbly about a career that never quite recognised his special talents. It was fascinating in this age of overpaid agents to hear how little input he had in his own career moves and how, like most players, he struggled to make a living after retiring from playing.

A great thank you from all at SHOF and the Lord Mayor to everyone who attended the event at the town hall. The total raised was £1,660 with nearly half going to St. Lukes. Our sincere thanks to everyone involved, especially Alan Biggs and Tony Currie who gave their time free of charge.
