Such a great shock to hear about the sudden death today of Dame Julie Kenny at the age of 67 in Doncaster. Dame Julie was a working class girl who became a manufacturing giant in South Yorkshire and pioneered so much of South Yorkshire‘s potential to the world. She took on the restoration of Wentworth Woodhouse when nobody else would, and she was a proud supporter of Sheffield Home of Football and our ambition to put the city on the global map. She will be sorely missed and our condolences go to all her many friends and family. She will be missed, but not forgotten.
