The trustees are delighted to announce that Richard Caborn has accepted our offer to become the patron of Sheffield Home of Football.
Richard, retired MP and MEP, has enormous skills and talent to promote our charity. He held three ministerial roles during his time as a MP including sports minister and played a significant part in bringing the 2012 Olympics to London.
Since Leaving Parliament, Richard has maintained his passion for both sport and industry. He chaired the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park for 10 years and delivered £millions of investment into Sheffield. This has transformed a run down area of Sheffield into a unique place for research, health and technology.
In 2023 Richard was awarded the highest accolade by Sheffield with the freedom of the City.
