A good front page and centre page spread in The Star, Sheffield and well done John Clarke for being our centre fold poster boy for it. There’s a factual inaccuracy in that Sheffield Home of Football has not been around for 30 years since we only became a charity in 2023 following the relaunch of the organisation. We have achieved a great deal in that short time and only people with their heads in the sand can now deny that we are putting the city on the map in the way that it deserves.
Next week sees our first major piece of public art being unveiled in the city centre along with 13 blue plaques erected, our new children’s book and today we have partnered with the The National Literacy Trust to get this into the hands of every child in the city.
We also have an impressive series of football guided walks and a team of wonderful volunteers and our bid for UNESCO status for Sheffield is progressing well and we hope to have some good news about this soon.
We’ve also sent a 5-year business plan to Mayor Oliver Coppard’s office and are working with Sheffield City Council on this ambitious plan for our museum and visitor centre.
