Another triumph for Sheffield Home of Football for the unveiling of a blue plaque to the incredible John Tasker, the Sheffield engineer who invented the floodlights for the world‘s first floodlit football game at Bramall Lane in Sheffield in October 1878.
Thanks to everyone who attended today including Simon Matthews from Huddersfield who sponsored the plaque, the owner of the frog and parrot, Mr. Nick Simmonite, Professor, Mike Robinson from UNESCO and John Tasker’s great, great, great grandson, Richard King and his mum Christine from Sheffield along with all our wonderful trustees,  Denise Fox, John Stocks, Steve Wood, Barbara Walker, Colin Ross, Jason Dickinson, John Clarke, Dr John P Wilson and our wonderful patron Richard Caborn we are starting to make a difference.
